Atom Computing
Atom Computing is building highly scalable, gate-based quantum computers with atomic arrays of optically-trapped neutral atoms, empowering researchers and companies to achieve unprecedented breakthroughs.
Why we invested
Quantum computers will be able to solve problems critical to climate change mitigation that are impossible with today’s compute architecture. However, today’s quantum computers are too small and inefficient. Atom Computing’s neutral atom quantum computing hardware platform will be the fastest to achieve a scale that is meaningful in tackling these hard problems.
Why this work matters
Computational power has skyrocketed over the last several decades, leading to new discoveries, solutions, and products. Some problems, however, are considered too complex and will remain out of reach for even the most advanced supercomputers. Quantum computers harness unique properties of quantum physics to solve these problems very differently, making them a powerful – and complementary - tool for researchers and businesses.
